SENSORY OVERLOAD VIDEO
50% of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder elope, meaning they leave safe spaces to sometimes deadly results. Sensory integration differences are very common for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and for many the reason that they will run off. Their body is telling them that they are in danger, and if they are grabbed in this state they may respond with thrashing/biting/hitting to get away.
Here is a video that I often show in my Autism presentations to help people understand how to create safe spaces within the community and how to respond if they see someone in distress.
